Hoel Pond Lodge nestled on the banks of the Hoel Pond. You can swim,
fish, canoe, kayak or boat right from your own private docks. The lodge
is equipped with a canoe, and a row boat for your use. There is also
a boat ramp if you would like to bring your own small boat.
Hoel Pond is great for fishing. It is a 455-acre lake with depths up
to 60 feet. It is one of the top fishing waters in New York State for
Lake Trout and Landlocked Salmon. Hoel Pond is also part of the Saint
Regis Canoe Area; the only designated Canoe Area in New York State.
The lodge boasts an oversized bedroom on the upper floor with a private
bath, walk-in closet and beautiful views of the lake. The other large
bedroom on this floor is furnished with a twin over twin bunk bed and
a twin over full bunk bed. There are also two bedrooms on the first
floor. One bedroom has a queen bed and a full bathroom. The other bedroom
has a full size bed and is adjacent to the third full bathroom. The
kitchen, dining room, living room and playroom are also on the first
floor. The first floor has numerous large windows to relax and view
the lake.
The Lodge is within walking distance of the Saranac Inn Golf and Country
Club. In 2012 the golf club was designated by Golf Digest as Best Places
to Play with 41/2 Stars.
Located within the Saranac Lakes Wild Forest, there are numerous hiking
opportunities. Popular hiking destinations including, 2,241-foot Panther
Mountain, 3,058-foot Scarface Mountain, the Fernow Forest Nature trail
and lesser known Trombley Landing, Deer Pond, Hoel Pond, and Floodwood
Mountain are all less than a 10 minute drive.
There are numerous attractions nearby. The Wild Center in Tupper Lake
is within a 12-mile drive. Paul Smiths College is also nearby with nature
exhibits and a network of well-marked nature trails. Downtown Saranac
is about a 9-mile drive and has many shops and restaurants to explore.
Lake Placid, with all of the shops and eateries of Main Street and the
Olympic Venues is just another 9-mile drive from there.
